What is the Infinity Wave?
Recently, I heard an interview with spiritual teacher, coach and author, Hope Fitzgerald, who was promoting her book, The Infinity Wave. In her words it is an “energetic tool for transformation… a 10th dimensional energy infused with deep love and compassion, which helps to bring calm and ease to any situation“.
Hope defines the Infinity Wave as the highest version of love and compassion imaginable, delivering a sense of wellbeing, peace and connectedness. It can move you instantly from crises and challenges, and into your soul vision of peace, possibility, abundance and power. She also states that it has been gifted as a tool for the transformation of humanity, capable of evolving us.
To create the Infinity Wave you imagine, or draw with your hands, an infinity or figure 8 symbol with the intention of bringing in love and compassion. You can make an infinity sign over the heart or visualise a figure 8 connecting heaven and earth – connecting us to both cosmic and galactic energies and the powerful Earth energies. The key is always to work with intention.
Three ways Hope suggests using the Infinity Wave:
Within your heart to gift yourself love and compassion
Between two people to elevate the conversation
Between you and the Earth to bring grounding
What struck me about Hope’s description of the Infinity Wave is its similarities to Donna Eden’s teaching about Figure 8s in her Energy Medicine work.
The importance of Figure 8s in Eden Energy Medicine
The basis of Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine work is that we have many subtle forms of energy surrounding and flowing through us that directly inform and impact our health. She teaches that energy needs space to move and it wants to move in specific patterns. We are healthiest when energy is moving freely, and that the health of the body’s subtle energies – in terms of flow, balance and harmony – is reflected in the health of the physical body.
One of the little-known subtle energy structures of our energy anatomy that Donna describes is the Celtic Weave: an energy system similar to the weave of a cloth or basket that creates a container for all your body’s energies. It is rather like the subtle energy equivalent of connective tissue.
The Celtic Weave contains many criss-crossing energies, as well as some geometrical shapes. The more complex patterns that exist in your Celtic Weave system, the healthier you are. And many of these patterns resemble Figure 8s or infinity symbols.
Figure 8s are embedded into every scale of our body. Even the helical configuration of our genes resembles a long string of Figure 8s.
Donna recommends strengthening the Celtic Weave by drawing Figure 8s around the body with the hands. Why the hands? Because they emit a small electro-magnetic field that can move subtle energies.
Titanya, Donna's daughter, explains the benefits of Figure 8s
You can trace the Figure 8s horizontally, vertically or diagonally around the body to strengthen and realign these important energies. They are essential for optimal healing, so one of the best – and simplest – methods of healing any area of the body is to draw Figure 8s over that area.

Figure 8s are essential for optimal healing, so one of the best – and simplest – methods of healing any area of the body is to draw Figure 8s over that area. Uses for Figure 8s in healing include:
healing wounds and fractures
reducing pain
strengthening the body’s natural protection against unwanted energies
uplifting and calming the emotions.

Just as Hope suggests using the Infinity Wave between two people, so in Donna’s work you can trace Figure 8s between the heart centres of two people – between yourself and another, for example – to create a higher vibrational connection that can reduce conflict and bring greater resonance. You can do this directly in the field between you, or in your mind – it still works!
Another wonderful technique is to trace small Figure 8 patterns around the eyes. This improves your neurological processing (ie. brain function) and energises tired eyes.
Weaving Figure 8s or infinity symbols around you brings greater health and vitality, promotes healing, and brings greater clarity, harmony and joy. You can’t go wrong with Figure 8s. And with all intentional practices, focusing on love, compassion, peace and wellbeing while tracing Figure 8s will amplify the benefits.
